Fleet Market CIC Ltd. (FMC) is committed to a policy of protecting the rights and privacy of FMC members, Directors, staff and volunteers in accordance with data protection laws.

 

Legal Requirements

FMC needs to gather and use certain information about individuals. These can include customers, suppliers, business contacts, employees, and other people the organisation has a relationship with or may need to contact.  This policy describes how this personal data must be collected, handled and stored to meet the company’s data protection standards — and to comply with the law.

 

In certain circumstances, the Data Protection Act allows data to be disclosed to law enforcement agencies without the consent of the data subject.

 

Personal Data Collected

We do not collect personal information in order for you to access information on the FMC website. 

 

If you want to express an interest in becoming a stallholder or supplier to FMC, we will need you to supply the following personal information: Name, Email Address, Telephone Number, Business Name as well a description of your business and a summary of your products.

 

You can sign up to receive copies of the FMC email newsletter. If you wish to stop receiving the FMC Newsletter you should use the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of each newsletter or email unsubscribe@fleetmarket.co.uk requesting that you are unsubscribed.

 

Data Usage

We require this information to understand your needs and for the following reasons:

 

  • Provision of any service(s) requested
  • Dealing with enquiries or requests for information
  • Maintaining records for administrative purposes

 

Data Storage

The data stored will be held within secure cloud services such as Microsoft M365 OneDrive. No unauthorised person shall have access to the data held within these services. FMC uses and operates standard security policies and procedures including strong approach to password protection, including 2-factor authentication.

 

Data used for marketing purposes, including website material, will be agreed with the individual in the first instance. If requested, FMC must remove the individual’s data from the FMC website immediately.

The data considered redundant will be appropriately destroyed, whether held as a hard copy or electronically.

 

Data Protection Principles

  • FMC will ensure that the data held is adequate, relevant, and not excessive.
  • FMC will make amendments to data as soon as possible following notifications from the individual, ensuring data is accurate and up to date.
  • FMC will discourage the retention of data for longer than is required.
  • Data will be held in as few places as necessary and authorised personnel should not make unnecessary data sets.
  • Data will not be shared informally by FMC.

 

Subject Access Requests

Individuals have the right to request copies of all information held by FMC. We would ask that Subject Access Requests are made in writing or emailed to DPO@fleetmarket.co.uk 

 

Cookies

The FMC website uses Google Analytics which allow FMC to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how they move around the site when they are using it. This helps FMC to improve the way their website works, for example by making sure users are finding what they need easily.

This information is held by Google on their servers, FMC can access that information and while it shows the activity on their website they cannot identify individuals.
